The Catholic version of the Holy Bible contains 46 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, making a total of 73 books.

The Protestant version contains 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament, a total of 66 books.

The Protestants reject the following books found in the Old Testament:
Tobit ,
Judith ,
Wisdom ,
Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) ,
Baruch ,
1 Maccabees , and
2 Maccabees.

The Protestants also reject:

Chapters 10 to 16 of Esther,
Daniel 3:24-90, Chapter 13, and
Chapter 14.

The following books of the New Testament were rejected by the Protestant for some time. Presently most Protestant religions accept them.

Hebrews,
James,
2 Peter,
2 John
3 John,
Jude, and

Revelation (the Apocalypse).
